Thalia's life is perfect. She has her dream house on the edge of Lake Cumberland in Nancy, Kentucky. She has a thriving sex therapy practice. Her sister has just moved nearby and is running the daily business of her practice.
She has a tight group of friends who keep her entertained and honest and a seemingly endless supply of ladies to meet her more basic human needs. Thalia has no regrets she's without a life partner.
Or does she?
A rough break-up five years ago left Thalia's heart in pieces. Thanks to friends and family her heart healed and she was able to find peace and happiness again. But not without scars that have left her unwilling to be vulnerable and exposed again.
When Amara walks into Thalia's practice seeking help for her friend, something ancient and terrifying stirs inside her.
Will Thalia be able to keep their interaction professional or will the allure of "one who will be forever beautiful," as her name suggests, be too much for Thalia and her fragile heart to resist?
Seventy Six Falls
Coming October 2016
THE SUPREME COURT’S recent decision has legalized marriage for same-sex couples nationwide and LGBT couples everywhere are beginning to discuss their future just as straight couples have done for years.
The Supreme Court’s decision wasn’t happy news for everyone, particularly for radical fundamentalist Christians in the bible belt. One such person is Karen Dolt, County Clerk for Williams County, Kentucky.
Her refusal to honor the oath of office and issue licenses to same-sex couples has resulted in a media frenzy and an annoyance for several couples in the county.
But when one of Karen’s refusals results in a tragedy that personally affects Thalia, she is shaken to the core, leaving herself, her friends, and her lover wondering if she will get through this tragedy with any part of her former self intact.
Thalia's Oral Exam
IF THE L WORD (hot fantasy lesbians), Sex and the City (engaging in girl talk), and Seinfeld (about nothing) were dumped into a martini shaker, what would emerge is the Thalia Chase: Sex Therapist series. The series both informs and entertains the reader as the heroine becomes your own personal virtual sex therapist.
I belong to an amazing group on Facebook, a gathering of my people, lesbians who love to read and write lesbian fiction. We get into some pretty crazy discussions from time to time.
One of the members wrote a blog post where she challenged those of us so inclined to write a story which incorporates all of the proper clinical names for the various parts of the female genitalia. I accepted the challenge. And here is my contribution to the fine literature unleashed on the unsuspecting members of this innocent lot.
This story takes us back into Thalia’s college undergraduate days where’s she’s feeling the stress of her impending orals, the last hurdle to clear before she begins work on her MDiv in Pastoral Counseling. Will she pass her orals or will her crush on Ms. Hanson destroy her dreams?
